The Hochsauerland is part of the Rothaar Mountains and is known as a recreational and holiday region for winter sports and hiking. The holiday resort of Westfeld is located directly at the foot of the Kahler Asten, probably the most famous mountain in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is not far (approx. 15 minutes) from the winter sports metropolis of Winterberg and in the middle of the Schmallenberger Sauerland hiking world.
Westfeld is located in the upper Lennetal and is an ideal starting point for hiking and cycling tours, Nordic walking and cross-country skiing. The townscape is characterized by stylish and, above all, well-kept half-timbered houses, embedded in a beautiful low mountain landscape. Westfeld received the award in 1975"Federal Gold Village"and thus became one of the most beautiful villages in the Sauerland.
If you are looking for peace and relaxation, you have come to the right place. With a view of the mountains, forests and meadows, this is guaranteed. You can relax over breakfast and watch the ponies and cows in the pasture.
In the summer months we always get a visit from our squirrel Paula. An attraction for young and old.
You can go on beautiful hikes and bike tours in the surrounding area. Signposted hiking routes will help you do this.
The newly constructed Finnish track and the fitness course in the park are also worth trying out. There is a playground for children in the park.
In the winter months, Westfeld is a meeting point for cross-country skiing fans. From here you can start long tours through the Rothaar Arena. The SnowshoeHiking tours that are offered every year from the beginning of January. Try something new and let yourself be surprised.
